Longboat Key

Today was a little scary with a wind forecast of 15-20 out of the NE. However at Longboat Key the wind was pretty much out of the East and maybe a little from the South. Roy lead the group at a nice pace to the South end of Longboat in 56 minutes without a rest stop. On the way back Rob H. set a pretty fast pace for the 1st third where we took a rest stop. After that Roy took off like a jack rabbit and the group split into 3 groups. The slowest group finished the 20 miles in 2 hours and 7 minutes including about 20 minutes at the end and the rest stop. Rob H. brought his wife Cindy today. She went shopping at St. Armands Circle. Hope Rob can afford this skate. Tony came again today. Welcome back Tony. Steve G. had researched the Longboat Key restaurants and had several good suggestions. However we had a steady stream of bladers using Isabelle's Eatery restrooms before the blade so we felt obligated to have Brunch there. Isabelle's had fast service and pretty good food. We gave Isabelle's an 8. When we got back to Maximo Park I had a note from Martha C. on my windshield. She didn't get there until 8:15 and we were long gone by then. Sorry we missed you Martha. We also missed Rob H, Karin and Janice our usual every weekend skaters.

Congratulations  to the Tampa Bay Lightning for winning the Eastern Conference Title  and The Lord Stanley Cup !!!   They beat Calgary in 7 games. It was a hard fought battle one that will be remembered long into the future. Could this be the start of a Hockey Dynasty ??  Click here for more info Go Bolts !!
